Renault Trucks invests in a new logistics hub to keep customers' vehicles on the road
For transport operators, every truck off the road is a truck that’s no longer working. That's why a reliable supply of spare parts is vital to getting vehicles back into service as quickly as possible. With this objective in mind, Renault Trucks laid the foundation stone last June for its future global spare parts distribution hub in Saint-Priest, near Lyon.
Renault Trucks currently already delivers almost every spare part ordered by its 1,500 European sales and service outlets by the next day. Scheduled to open in 2028, the new global spare parts distribution hub will further enhance Renault Trucks' ability to keep its customers' vehicles on the road with minimal downtime.
Spanning 46,000 m² – around the size of six football pitches – the next-generation logistics hub has been designed to support the changing needs of the transport sector. It will feature a dedicated storage area for electric vehicle batteries, alongside a range of warehousing facilities. The project represents an investment of €132 million..
“At a time when supply chains are a critical driver of competitiveness and resilience, investing in logistics infrastructure of this scale is a strategic choice. It's an investment for our customers, our performance and our ability to support the long-term transformation of the transport industry", explained Antoine Duclaux, President of Renault Trucks.
This project is part of Renault Trucks' drive to decarbonise its operations. Designed as an energy-positive building with no reliance on fossil fuels, it will generate, through its solar panels, all the electricity needed to run the site – powering logistics equipment, charging forklift trucks and electric vehicles – while also supplying neighbouring buildings.
The project will also improve the working environment for almost 500 employees, providing a safer, more ergonomic workplace designed for the technologies of the future.
Through this long-term investment in its industrial facilities, Renault Trucks is reaffirming its deep roots in the Lyon region and its commitment to providing transport professionals with ever more effective solutions, now and in the years ahead..
