CSR: Renault Trucks earns the Ecovadis Platinum, joining the top 1% of companies

After seven consecutive years at Gold level, Renault Trucks has reached the highest level of Ecovadis recognition this year, earning a Platinum medal for the first time. With a 2026 score of 88/100, the manufacturer now ranks among the top 1% of companies assessed by Ecovadis. The result acknowledges the continued progress of Renault Trucks’ sustainability practices in the four assessment areas, namely Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

Renault Trucks has reached a new milestone in its Ecovadis assessment, achieving an overall score of 88/100 and securing a Platinum medal. It has improved its rating by five points in just one year and by 25 points since 2019, reflecting the steady strengthening of its sustainability policies and actions year after year.

A key highlight of the 2026 assessment: Renault Trucks achieved the maximum score of 100/100 for both its sustainability policies and the actions implemented. This result underlines the consistency between the company’s sustainability commitments and their practical implementation.

Environmental performance built to last

For the fifth consecutive year, Renault Trucks has achieved the maximum score of 100/100 in the Environment category. This performance reflects the manufacturer’s efforts not only to decarbonise road freight transport but also to reduce the environmental footprint of its own industrial operations.

In 2026, Renault Trucks expanded its electric vehicle range with new models covering an increasingly broad range of applications, from long-haul transport to urban delivery. These include the Renault Trucks E-Tech T 780, with a range of up to 660 km; the Renault Trucks E-Tech D 12 and D 14T, compact trucks designed for urban use; and the Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic, a new generation of light commercial vehicles developed on an all-electric platform. At the same time, the manufacturer continues to improve the energy efficiency of its diesel vehicles to reduce CO₂ emissions for every kilometre driven, including where switching to electric is not yet possible.

Renault Trucks is also working to decarbonise its own operations. In 2026, the manufacturer continued the gradual electrification of its industrial logistics operations, replacing diesel trucks with electric vehicles to transport components and assemblies between its plants.

At its manufacturing sites, Renault Trucks is also working to reduce energy consumption and transition to lower-carbon energy sources. Starting in 2026, the Lyon-Vénissieux site has been recovering heat generated by its industrial activities that would otherwise have been lost, using it to heat buildings and power certain processes. Combined with the site’s recent connection to the Lyon metropolitan district heating network, the new system is expected to avoid more than 2,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions a year and reduce the site’s overall energy consumption by around 10%.

Ethics, social and responsible procurement: scores on the rise

Renault Trucks scored 90/100 in Ethics, up from 80/100 in 2025. This increase is largely attributable to stronger policies and measures governing business conduct.

In Labour and Human Rights, Renault Trucks also recorded a significant improvement, with its score rising from 65 to 74/100 in one year. This progress reflects, in part, stronger policies and practices relating to employee health and safety, working conditions and career development.

Lastly, the manufacturer scored 90/100 in Sustainable Procurement. Together with the Volvo Group, Renault Trucks continues to monitor the environmental and social practices of its supply chain and engage suppliers in efforts to decarbonise their products.
