Explore, play, learn: welcome to the Forindustrie platform
What if industry was not like you imagined? Far from the clichés of grimy factories and monotonous jobs, industry is, in fact, innovative, digital, sustainable and offers plenty of opportunities. This is what Forindustrie intends to reveal. It is an immersive platform which uses video gaming codes in order to publicise the careers offered by industry and its many facets in the 21st century. Available online all year round, Forindustrie offers secondary and high school pupils, students, teachers, parents - or anybody who is interested - a chance to find out more about a number of topics. People can learn more about existing job opportunities and training as well as taking a fun - but realistic - peek into the industry of the future.
Forindustrie: an immersive learning platform which shares a positive view of industry
Forindustrie is designed like a video game, where players can navigate different “worlds” representing French regions and industrial sectors using a PC, tablet or smartphone. In each world, the budding explorers use this informative and collaborative tool to discover industry, the companies working in the sector, cutting-edge technology and the latest innovations.
Designed for secondary and high school pupils looking for career guidance, the platform appeals to a much wider audience. People from all generations can find out more about careers in industry, discover the various skills involved, understand the key role they play in energy and environmental transition and discover the wide spectrum of potential career paths.
A competitive challenge timed to coincide with industry week
Teachers and pupils will be competing in a three-week school challenge during which they can explore the different worlds, view testimonials, take part in quizzes and attend online Q&A sessions with professionals where there is no such thing as a silly question! Players collect points and can win visits to industrial facilities while honing their knowledge of the wide range of jobs available in industry.
Renault Trucks, a committed partner of Forindustrie
French industrial giant Renault Trucks is taking part in this collaborative venture which brings together companies, professional federations and public agencies with the shared aim of promoting careers in industry and inspiring future vocations.
Renault Trucks features in three of the game’s “worlds”:
- French regions “Normandy” and “Auvergne Rhône-Alpes” where it is one of the main private sector employers;
- “Energy transition”, reflecting its long-standing commitment to more sustainable transportation and its pioneering role in putting electric trucks on the road for over fifteen years.
As they navigate through the game, visitors can discover thirteen video testimonials from Renault Trucks employees who describe their passion for their job and give an insight into the varied tasks they perform on an everyday basis. These portraits cover the entire production chain of a truck from design to refurbishing, highlighting manufacturing operations, quality, maintenance and logistics.
These portraits will soon be available to view online on the Renault Trucks YouTube channel.
The answer can be found on the Forindustrie platform. Thirteen Renault Trucks employees who feel passionately about their job share their everyday experience. This series of interviews will also be soon available on the Renault Trucks YouTube channel.
