Renault Trucks delivers its 5,000th electric vehicle!
The keys to the 5,000th Renault Trucks E-Tech electric vehicle – a Renault Trucks E-Tech Master – were recently handed over to Marko Jauhiainen, CEO of HRX Finland Oy.
This 100% electric van will now be used for last-mile collection and delivery operations in the Helsinki metropolitan area, replacing a diesel-powered vehicle. Its daily mission: up to 300 kilometres and 40 to 50 delivery and collection stops on a single charge – even in harsh winter conditions.
"But before making our decision, it was essential for us to test the vehicle’s range in real-life operations. The consumption report confirmed our expectations: we can comfortably complete a full day’s work on a single charge," explains Marko Jauhiainen.
This acquisition is fully aligned with HRX Finland Oy’s sustainability strategy, which targets carbon neutrality by 2035. The company already operates a fleet running exclusively on HVO100 renewable fuel, and all of its facilities are powered by electricity from renewable sources.
“The Renault Trucks E-Tech Master fits perfectly with our sustainability efforts, while remaining competitive in terms of cost, reliability and range,” Jauhiainen adds.
The HRX Group, which operates in six countries, has a fleet that includes 86 Renault Trucks vehicles. Each of its terminals is now equipped with at least one Renault Trucks E-Tech vehicle.
The delivery of the 5,000th Renault Trucks electric vehicle highlights the steady roll-out of electromobility across Europe. Today, electric trucks are well-suited to the vast majority of urban distribution operations. They meet the sector’s operational requirements while significantly reducing the environmental impact of transport.
However, the widespread adoption of these solutions will require collective efforts to support the energy transition of the industry.
